Claire, a woman with curly blonde hair wearing a yellow apron over a white t-shirt, is standing outdoors in a lush, green garden next to a tree. Her apron has paint splatters on it.

Hi, I’m Claire! I started Oso Studio in 2025 as a way to share art with friends and family. Since then, the Oso Studio community continues to grow! I’m so happy you’re here!

I am from Michigan and find most of my inspiration through lived experience in the MI outdoors. By day, I am an organic farmer at a small-scale regenerative vegetable farm. By night, I am a ceramicist, printmaker, painter, swimmer, skier, skateboarder, and friend.

All of my works are created by hand in my home studio and community ceramics studio.

WHY OSO STUDIO?

Oso means bear in Spanish. The name reflects my Mexican roots and a few nicknames over the years. “Claire Bear” or just “Bear” if you’re my Aunt Shari. “Oh Shiny One” (O.S.O) if you’re my dad - although I’ll never know how that name came about. I also like to think Oso nods at home, the Sleeping Bear State, nestled under the great Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.
